The Integrated Development Plan (IDP) The IDP is the key plan that drives overall city development strategy. The Long Term Development Plan has been divided into smaller, five year draft Integrated Development Plans (IDPs) that will guide the development of eThekwini Metropolitan Municipality so that all services are provided in a co-ordinated way, considering all aspects of people’s lives.
EDGE Economic Bulletin The EDGE publications are quarterly economic bulletins that look at the eThekwini economy, with a brief overview of the global and national context. The EDGE aims to inform stakeholders of the latest developments and trends in eThekwini.
There are currently four editions that have been released since its inception in 2011. Each EDGE publication is centered on a specific theme.
eThekwini Quality of Life Survey The eThekwini Municipality conducts Quality of Life surveys annually.

ezaseGagasini Metro The ezaseGagasini Metro (meaning coming from the city of the waves) is the official newspaper of the eThekwini Municipality, through which ratepayers and residents are kept informed about projects, programmes and activities of the eThekwini Municipality. It is also a forum for reader’s views. Published fortnightly, the newspaper hits the streets on a Friday morning, with 400 000 copies distributed in English and Zulu. The publication is an in-house product of the Municipality’s Communications Department.
Community Profiles 2011 - 2016
Community Profiles 2005 -2010 The eThekwini Municipality Corporate Policy Unit Department has developed a web application to allow the public to view images and information about wards and planning units (for example Maps, Councillors or Projects) on the Internet.
